The Soft Shell® Splint combines the malleable properties of the successful SAM® Splint with comfortable material. Whether used for a fracture or a sprain, the Soft Shell Splint can be easily shaped and applied within seconds and is comfortable for the patient. It can also be easily removed and re-shaped at any time. The Soft Shell Splint is lightweight, inexpensive, and an ideal alternative or temporary solution to rigid splints. 

This soft adjustable splint can be easily molded to fit the patient's hand, wrist, or forearm. It shapes in seconds into a:
• Volar splint
• Thumb spica splint
• Ulnar gutter splint
• Clamshell splint

HOW THE SOFT SHELL SPLINT WORKS
The Soft Shell Splint works like the SAM Splint. The splint has "O" temper aluminum encased in soft foam. The aluminum core allows the splint to be molded in seconds into a variety of shapes. The splint has added thickness on one end to provide both firm and extra firmness. The skin-contact surface is covered with an absorbent brushed terrycloth fabric.
